mcsorleys-old-ale-house
McSorley’s Old Ale House, opened in 1854, is the oldest continuously operated saloon in NYC. With sawdust strewn floors and hefty coatings of dust about everywhere else you look, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time. You can’t find better (or cheaper) house ale. Please don’t ask for a coors- only a light and a dark. Unfortunately, this place has turned into quite a tourist trap, but it has not lost its charm. Do not expect party music (or any music) and do not expect a table unless you are patient. Be polite to the bartenders- they have also worked at the place for a century and won’t put up with any of your you-know-what.
