Get A Recommendation

Published by Andy

Our friends and family look to us for their NYC restaurant recommendations. We get all sorts of requests, whether it’s a friend looking for a wine bar for a date, out-of-towners looking for a pre-theater spot, friends looking for a good Sunday-Funday brunch spot, or a fellow wino looking for a good BYO spot. We enjoy putting our knowledge of the NYC food and drink scene to good use.  So, we thought why not lend our NYC expertise to all our readers. Simply fill out the form below with as much or as little info about what you are looking for (neighborhood, type of food, occasion, price, time, breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner, non-touristy, etc). and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can by email with our best ideas and recommendations.  Even if you already have a pretty good idea for a place, why not test us out and see how you compare to what we come up with.

You’ll not only get our top recommendations, but you’ll also be able to tap into the expertise and recommendation-power of our Twitter following.  We will tweet each recommendation request we receive and then email our own recommendations in addition to the top recommendations from our Twitter followers.

You can follow all of the Recommendation Requests (anonymous) we receive and our Recommendations on Twitter @NYCRecos.

This is the exact same idea as Eatery Expert that was profiled on Thrillist this week:http://www.thrillist.com/new-york/eatery-expert.

You guys are behind the ball on this one. They have been around for months.

Richard: Thanks for your comment. NYC is a big place. I’m sure there’s room for more than one restaurant/bar recommendation service. Not to mention that through our website our readers have had an opportunity to get an idea for the types of places we like and the types of recommendations they can expect from us. With Eatery Expert, while I have no doubt they’re great at what they do, you have no idea the tastes or personalities behind the people providing the recommendations. We thought it was better to wait before launching our service. Not sure if you’re familiar with the concept of “last mover advantage” (if not google it), but we’re hoping it will apply here.
