Burger & BBQ Wars
In the past few years, New York has become one of the world’s best and most competitive burger scenes. Restaurants and chefs in this city compete with one another in any number of ways, but one of their favorite battlegrounds of late has been the burger. The burger has become a symbol of pride for chefs, an expression of their individual judgment. The kind of bun, the choice of cheese, the array of condiments, the ratio of different mixes and kinds of meat. There’s a burger for all tastes and everyone has a different opinion on NYC’s best burger. A bit more surprising is that NYC has also become a BBQ hot-spot. There’s some tried and true places like Daisy May’s, Blue Smoke and Dinosaur BBQ and newcomers like Hill Country and Wildwood BBQ. Here, we’ll pit the pits (bbq pits that is) and patties against one another and declare a victor in each battle.
