Blue Hill New York Launches Menu-Free Mondays

Published by Andy at 3:05 pm under Food, Wine & Beer News

One of the best meals we’ve ever had was last December at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, which Jill wrote about here. What sets Blue Hill at Stone Barns apart from other restaurants, among lots of other things, is its unique harvest-style menu. Instead of a traditional menu, you receive a list of over 100 ingredients that are part of that day’s harvest and any of which could be served as part of courses throughout your meal. You then choose whether you would like the 8-course or the 5-course Farmer’s Feast.  To see an example, check out our harvest menu from that spectacular meal here. While Blue Hill’s NYC location in GreenwichVillage is a very, very good restaurant, it has offered a more traditional dining experience and tasting menu than it’s Stone Barns outpost.  Until now. Starting in November, Blue Hill New York hosts menu-free Mondays every second Monday of the month, featuring a Farmer’s Feast assembled from the day’s harvest. You can get the first taste of a Stone Barns-esque Farmer’s Feast experience in the city on Monday, November 8th.  The cost for the five-course tasting is $95 per guest (exclusive of tax and gratuity). An optional wine pairing will also be available for $55 per guest. For reservations, call 212.539.1776. Upcoming New York Farmer’s Feast Dates: December 13, 2010 & January 10, 2011.
