Last-Minute Guide to Celebrating Easter in NYC
From Greek-style lamb dinners to boozy brunches and jello shot hunts, we’ve got you covered for this Sunday. Ourselves, we’re looking forward to celebrating for the second year in a row at The Farmhouse at the Bedford Post (menu).
Pera Mediterranean Brasserie: You won’t find a bigger Easter feast at a better price! Pera’s offering a full-on Lamb Roast with 7 different family-style courses, including oven-roast whole spring lamb, house made lamb sausage and lamb pastrami, for just $29/person. Available Saturday the 3rd from 3 to 9 pm and Sunday the 4th from 3 to 10 pm at $29 per person, with a two person minimum (212-878-6301; 303 Madison Avenue).
The Oak Room: You’re gonna want to eat for hours at the elaborate $85 bottomless brunch that’s available from 11 am-3:30 pm. Whether its Smoked Salmon with Pappadums & caviar, Tuna Melt Sliders, Mini Fish Tacos, Lobster Eggs Benedict, or anything from the Omelet & Scramble Bar, you can’t really go wrong (212-758-7777; The Oak Room, 10 Central Park South).
Party Into the Wee Hours at These Traditional Midnight Greek Lamb Feasts:
Estiatorio Milos: Will be open at 12:00 am on Saturday for a traditional midnight feast ($97), featuring magiritsa (spit-roasted lamb), Greek pastries, live music and much more. The same menu will be available à la carte on Sunday (212-245-7400; 125 W 55th St).
Kellari’s Parea: Here’s another traditional midnight feast option. For $65, they’ll be serving a Greek traditional Easter soup magiritsa along with red eggs, tsoureki, spit roasted lamb, kokoretsi and more. Plus there will be live music. The party continues Sunday from 12-9 pm with a baby lamb on the spit all day long and live music starting at 3 pm (212-777-8448; 36 E. 20th St).
Molyvos: Offering a $65 midnight feast on Saturday night and a $55 prix-fixe on Sunday. Both include slow-roasted Vermont baby lamb and magiritsa, a lamb soup that takes three days to prepare (212-582-7500; 871 Seventh Ave).

Aleo: Offering a free bottle of wine with the order of two (2) entrees or more (212-691-8136; 7 W. 20th St).
Easter Egg Hunts & Jello Shot Hunts
Opia: The hunt is on at this Midtown spot at 1 pm & 3 pm. Plus they’ll have live entertainment for both kids & adults throughout the day. $30 prixe fixe for adults; $12 menu for the little ones (212-688-3939; 130 E. 57th St).
China Grill: An Easter egg hunt for the kids at 7:30pm. (212-333-7788; 60 W 53rd St)
Destination Bar: For you booze fiends (like us), we hear this EVillage bar is having a jello shot hunt. Should go well with their happy hour that lasts til 8pm (212-388-9844; 211 Ave A).
Zum Schneider: Celebrate Easter German-style at this way E Village biergarten. An à la carte menu will offer options like roasted lamb, baked ham and other specials to go with your liter of Paulaner. An egg and candy hunt is planned for 1 pm (212-598-1098; 107 Ave C).
My Big Fat Italian Easter
Lupa Osteria: Celebrate Easter with a traditional Italian Pasqua feast. The $75 prix-fixe meal is offered from noon til 11pm and begins with an assortment of Easter antipasti, followed by options such as house-made pasta with lamb ragù, and Lupa’s signature tartufo dessert (212-982-5089; 170 Thompson St).
Alloro: Offering a 4-course traditional Italian Pasqua feast which includes lasagna and lamb. 3-courses and chocolate treats for children. $55 per person / $25 per child. Offered from 1 pm til 10 pm (212-535-2866; 307 E 77th St).
Bice: Offering a 4-course feast for $55/person from noon til 11 pm featuring seasonal ravioli and Chilean sea bass with pancetta and artichoke, as well as a special gelato-topped colomba pasquale, a traditional Italian sweet bread baked into the shape of a dove. Mention Time Out New York and they’ll give you a free mimosa or glass of prosecco with the prix-fixe menu (212-688-1999; 7 E. 54th St).
Macelleria: Offering a $29 brunch with complimentary brunch cocktail. The menu includes items like ravioli al pomodoro, straw and hay tagliolini with peas and pancetta, as well as more traditional brunch dishes like Sicilian egg toast with asparagus and truffle oil (212-741-2555; 48 Gansevoort St).
‘Cesca: Offering our special prix fixe brunch menu at $29/person which includes a Bellini or Choice of Juice.
Children’s menu: $15/child (212-787-6300; 164 W. 75th St).
Armani Ristorante: Open 11:30 am to 8 pm. Offering a apecial 3-course $75 prix-fixe dinner menu including a complimentary glass of Rose (212-207-1902; 717 5th Ave).

Wall & Water: This new farm-to-table restaurant in the Andaz Hotel on Wall St is launching their new brunch service on Easter Sunday. We like the unlimited make-your-own bloody mary, mimosa or bellini bar. Or splurge for the whoe shebang with their $34 Whole Brunch that includes unlimited non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages + Cold Brunch + any main course from the kitchen menu (212-590-1234; 75 Wall St).
