You have to check out this promotion, or more like publicity stunt, put out today by Smith & Wollensky.  They’re offering free steaks to traders and investment bankers who have been paid their bonuses not in cash, but with company stock.  One thing these geniuses at Smith & Wollensky don’t take into account is that most stock bonus awards are in the form of options that vest over a certain time period.  So none of these bankers are really gonna have stock certs yet from this year’s bonus.  A better deal would be if you could exchange your now worthless stock certificates for a special offer like a free glass of wine.  As part of the promo, anyone can swap any NYSE and NASDAQ stock certificates (priced at close of business) for steaks.  You may not be getting fat, juicy cash bonuses, but at least you can get fat, juicy steaks!  Thanks to our friend Adam in Atlanta for sending along the tip!
