Snow Day Drinking Specials
There’s nothing better than holing up in a bar and sharing in the snow day camarederie with others over a few cocktails or pints. Restaurants and bars are putting out word of great “snow day” specials through email and twitter. Here are some of the best snowy day drink deals we’ve come across so far:
Bar Pleiades (20 E. 76th St. @ The Surrey Hotel) — “Snow Day” Cocktails tonight from 5:30-8:30 pm with Mixologists Cameron Bogue & Ryan Magarian, who will be preparing 5 varieties of cocktails with Aviation Gin. To accompany your cocktails, Café Boulud Chef Gavin Kaysen is honoring the “snow day” with complimentary arancini - his famed delicious crisp risotto balls – for parties of four guests or more.
L’asso (192 Mott St @ Kenmare) — Any tap beer and a shot of michters bourbon or rye $5 until 8pm tonight.
The Stag’s Head (252 E. 51st St) — While so many events have been canceled for this evening, here’s an awesome craft beer event that’s still happening. Paste Magazine has come up here to NYC from Atlanta to celebrate their ’25 Best Breweries of the Decade’ list. 16 of the 25 breweries will be featured, including Ommegang, Allagash, Lagunitas, Jolly Pumpkin, Wayerbacher, North Coast Brewing and more. From 6:30-9:30 PM, they’ll be pouring $4 drafts plus there will be complimentary grilled meats and giveaways.
Boqueria (53 W. 19th St & 171 Spring St.) — Free glass of blood orange sangria with your lunch or dinner today. If four people in your party, you get a free pitcher!
David Burke Restaurants (Townhouse, Fishtail, Burke at Bloomingdale’s) — David Burke and Veuve Clicquot have teamed up to offer $15 glasses of bubbly along with specials meant to pair perfectly with snow-laden days. At David Burke Townhouse that means sea scallops Benedict with chorizo oil and lobster foam ($15), at Fishtail you get coddled oysters with lemon butter and American sturgeon caviar ($18), and at David Burke at Bloomingdale’s crab truffles with pineapple relish and chipotle vinaigrette is on hand for $12.95.
Hop Devil Grill (129 St. Marks Pl) — $10 64 oz pitchers of sangria all night!
Overlook (225 E. 44th St) — 2 for 1 drinks from 2-6pm, then $5 Vodka drinks & $5 Yuengling & Sam Adams from 6–close.
Cabrito (50 Carmine St) — Brave the weather and enjoy Happy Hour specials at the bar from this moment until they close ‘er down at midnight. Specials include $3 tacos, $3 Dos Equis drafts, $5 margaritas ($30/pitcher), 1/2 price specialty cocktails w/ purchase of entree and more!
Kyotofu (705 9th Ave) — Half price cocktails, sake, beer & wine all night! The snow party starts at 5:30 pm.
Bia Garden (154 Orchard) — Their fully enclosed and heated “garden” area is the perfect place to hang out during the snowy weather. Stop by today and buy one six pack of beer and get one free.
Fatty Crab’s Uptown or Downtown (2170 Broadway; 643 Hudson St) — Snow, shmow. Don’t let the weather keep you penned up indoors. Come to either location of Fatty Crab and Cabrito today for all night happy hour, including $5 sliders and buns and $6 well drinks.
Brick Lane Curry House (603 E. 6th St) — Mention “snow day promotion” at this curry mecca and get a complimentary cup of Rasam Soup (traditional South Indian vegetarian soup) with purchase of entree. would love to see and drink to the atlanta review of 25 best breweries of the decade but we are sunned in here due to the intense glare from recent sun storm here in atlanta. if i find my sunglasses i may still be able to join you

Not at all jealous, cgf. If I wanted to live somewhere like Atlanta, I would… but it would bore the crap out of me. No problem at all with a couple of good snowfalls a year.
