Not to Be Outdone, USA Today Launches Wine Club
USA Today has joined the club in becoming the latest newspaper to launch a wine club. The paper follows in the footsteps of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and San Francisco Chronicle, among others. USA Today has selected My Wines Direct as its partner for the USA Today Wine Club. They are offering six bottles of wine each quarter for $69.99 plus $11.99 shipping. It’s nice that you can cancel your membership at any time and there’s no obligation to keep buying. But what really sets apart USA Today’s Wine Club from the rest of the pack is the selection process for the wines, which includes tasting panels of USA Today readers from around the US. Also, your shipment of wines will be accompanied by tasting notes and a recipe to create a meal pairing. If you’d like to participate on one of the tasting panels, email readertastings@usatodaywineclub.com and include your city. We’re expecting our first shipment soon and we’ll be reporting back with our thoughts on each of the selections and how we think the Tasting Panels did. While there are some who refer to USA Today as “McPaper”, these are certainly not “McWines.” Check out the wines included in the first shipment…
