“Wine Down” has been throwing some great monthly wine tasting parties at Astra, Charlie Palmer’s event space in Midtown (979 3rd Ave b/t 58th and 59th). The good times return on Columbus Day (Monday, Oct 12th) from 6-9pm. In the spirit of the holiday, the theme is “Made in the USA!”  featuring the classic and emerging wine regions of America. Wine Down’s cocktail-style parties are hosted by Michael Green, the wine and spirits consultant for Gourmet Magazine, and Andrew Levine. We’re big fans of the “unlimited tastes” of wine and the passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Chef Charlie Palmer’s staff. With all the wine, the food stations and passed desserts, you needn’t worry about getting your money’s worth at a Wine Down party.
