Bites & Bits From Around Town
There’s a new LaFrieda burger in town and it’s being served at a chowder bar. Jeff & Zach Chodorow’s Beach Burger took the prize at this year’s 3rd Annual Hamptons Burger Bloodbath with a LaFrieda blend of extra brisket, American cheese, spicy pickles and a sriracha-based sauce. The beach burger is on the menu for $17 w/ seasoned fries at Ed’s Chowder Bar, aka Chowderow’s, in the old Center Cut space in the Empire Hotel.
It’s the first day of Autumn, which means there’s a new menu and decor at Park Avenue Autumn (100 E. 63rd St). They’re offering a special “carnival” menu to open the season, featuring items like Kentucky Fried Quail n’ Waffles, Fairground Favorites: Candied Apple, Snow Cone and Cotton Candy and a Carny Cocktail: a can of Budweiser. We also couldn’t help but notice the Broccoli & Cheetos. Swing by this week for lunch and get 10 nice-sized samples of wine for just $10.
SideBAR (118 E. 15th Street) is offering a new deal that comes in pairs and has a little somethin’ for everyone. Every Monday-Friday til 10pm, 2 people can choose from 6 different options for $10 a person, including 3 draft beers and wings, a bottle of champagne and chocolate souflee or two glasses of wine and a meat & cheese platter.
Dallas BBQ is offering a deal where 2 people can eat cheaper than McD’s. $9.99 gets you 2 servings of 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken, Homemade Soup, Potato or Yellow Rice and Corn Bread.
It’s all you can drink Sixpoint draft beer for $15 from 10pm-2am this Sat night at Bark Hot Dogs (474 Bergen St; Park Slope)
Kick off Octoberfest with free Brats tomorrow night at Standings Bar (43 E. 7th St) starting at 6pm.
We’ve all been on a Pub Crawl, but have you ever done a Trattoria Crawl? Grab three friends and ‘Crawl for a Cause’ this Saturday from 2-6pm to benefit City Harvest. Your $50 tickets includes: Crawl packet (including: map of crawl with restaurant addresses, rules & regulations and day of contact information) and tastings of food & drink at each restaurant and the finish line party at Bar Stuzzichini.
