We’ve been hearing some pretty amazing things about what Chef Roberto Patriarca has been doing at Spina, the relatively new fresh pasta mecca at Ave B and E. 11th St in the E. Village. But it’s not just the artisanal pastas on the dinner menu that have been catching people’s attention, it’s also their innovative brunch (Sat-Sun from 11am-3:30pm) with items ranging from an assortment of interesting uova (egg) dishes to their fresh hand made pastas. There may be no better time to check out Spina’s brunch than now. For one thing, they have now added a complimentary brunch cocktail (mimosa or bellini) to the menu for those ordering an egg or fresh pasta dish (range from $10 to $15). These drinks are almost that much on their own! They’re also starting to get in on the Twitter action with some great specials and free offers. For example, they just tweeted the following about an hour ago: ”Stop by for brunch Sat or Sun, mention Twitter & get a free order of panzerotti (baby calzones with mozzarella or nutella) /w purchase.” Oh, and if you’re heading to Spina for dinner, they also tweeted earlier that you should ask the sommelier about a complimentary glass of wine with the dinner specials. We can get used to this complimentary treatment.
