[...] • With blogs, tweets, and updates, today everyone is a food critic. The only problem is dining out can be expensive. If you are one that would rather wait to eat at home, but can’t wait for the frosty mug of Guinness from the tap, then 21+ lush readers this is for you. I recently came across this awesome post by Andy Freedman entitled, The Ultimate Guide to Finding Free Food in NYC. Although the website is from 2009, there is a plethora of bars and free food to explore. I only suggest calling ahead. http://www.winedanddined.com/2009/08/free-food-nyc/ [...]

Hi,
I am a 19year old foreign student in NYC and - if there are any - some suggestions on free food that comes with a non alcohol drink for those under 21 would be great. Thanks!

DIVE BAR has DISCONTINUED it's free wings on your birthday. Which is fine, because they do not deserve your business anyways. I went there last night (Nov 23rd 2009)

I can't believe you didn't list the best free bar food ever -- Balthazar's in SoHo! At 5pm every weekday, they bring out plates of olives, tiers of hard-boiled eggs, and parmesan crisps!

Also, Les Halles on Park Ave S offers fresh house-fried crispy waffled potato chips starting at 5pm.
