The 15 Best Summer Restaurant Week Steakhouse Deals

Published by Andy at 12:28 pm under Restaurant Year

Given that a filet or NY strip in the city typically costs on average anywhere between $35-$50 on its own, steakhouses can provide you with the most Restaurant Week bang for your buck. Problem is many participating Restaurant Week steakhouses only offer one steak on the RW menu and it’s more often than not a teeny petite filet. Here we’ve broken down the 15 best steakhouse restaurant week menus in order of the best deals (based on steak portion size and value, restaurant reputation, restaurant atmosphere and overall RW menu value) to help steer you in the right direction (no pun intended):

Top 15 Steakhouse Dinner Restaurant Week Deals

The Post House (28 E. 63rd St b/t Park and Lex; 212-935-2888) — Offering a 12oz filet mignon (normally $40) or a filet oscar w/ white asapragus and crab meat ($10 supplement). Plus you get both an appetizer and a salad. Check out the full RW menu here.

Primehouse NY (Park Ave South at 27th; 212-824-2600) — Offering a marinated hangar steak w/ grilled portabella and arugula salad and roasted pepper salsa or a 7oz dry-aged petit sirloin w/ caramelized summer vegetables. Check out the full RW menu here.

Smith & Wollensky (3rd Ave @ 49th St; 212-753-1530) — Offering lots of variety: a 10oz filet mignon, or surf n’ turf (the 10oz filet + 5oz lobster tail for only $10 supplement), or a 14oz dry-aged sirloin ($10 supplement). Check out the full RW menu here.

Angelo and Maxie’s Steakhouse (Park Ave South at 19th Street; 212-220-9200) — Offering the biggest cuts: choice of 13oz Filet Mignon, 15oz Charbroiled NY Sirloin Steak, Marinated Roumanian steak w/ Grilled Onions, or Chopped Steak with Sautéed Onions. Best bang for your buck is with either the filet or NY sirloin, which are each around $33 on the everyday menu.

Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse (33rd St & 8th Ave; 212-563-4444) — Go surf ‘n turf here for RW. Offering a black angus filet mignon w/ chanterelle mushroom sauce. Also, you can add 1/2 lobster for just $7 supplement. Check out the full RW menu here.

Maloney & Porcelli (E. 50th St b/t Park & Madison; 212-750-2233) — Offering an 8oz petite filet mignon, which is $39 on the everyday menu, making this one a good deal. Check out the full RW menu here.

Center Cut (Empire Hotel; 212-956-1288) – Offers variation on the typical 3-course RW menu. You choose both a Soup and a Salad served in the first course, and then you choose both an Entree and a Side for the second course. Dessert is 2 cookies. The steak option is a Steak Diane (6oz brandt beef filet, house-made oak-aged worcestershire and fried oyster mushrooms), which is $36 on the everyday menu. Smallish steak but more courses.

The Palm (Tribeca location; West St b/t Chambers & Warren; 646-395-6393) — Offering a 9oz filet mignon w/ rosemary fingerling potatoes and lemon garlic cumin sauce. Check out the full RW menu here.

Delmonico’s Restaurant (56 Beaver St; 212-509-1144) — Offering a 10oz filet mignon served w/ accompaniments (dinner only). Check out the full RW menu here.

AJ Maxwell’s Steakhouse (57 W. 48th St; 212-262-6200) — Offering two 8oz steak options, a filet and a NY strip, each served with mashed potatoes.

Frankie & Johnnie’s (32 W. 37th St; 212-947-8940) — Offering an 8oz petite filet mignon. Check out the full RW menu here.

Michael Jordan’s The Steakhouse (G. Central Terminal; 212-655-2300) — Offering a 6oz petite filet mignon w/ mashed potatoes and bordelaise. Check out the full RW menu here.

Quality Meats (W/ 58th b/t 5th and 6th; 212-371-7777) — Doesn’t seem like a great RW deal here. Offering hangar steak w/ brandied cherry sauce ($10 supp yet it only costs $28 on everyday menu) or a brandt beef skirt steak frites (not on everyday menu). Check out the full RW menu here.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House (148 W. 51st St; 212-245-9600) — Offering their petite filet mignon, which is just a slightly smaller version of their regular filet. Check out the full RW menu here.

Porter House NYC (Time Warner Center; 212-823-9500) — Haven’t determined final RW menu, but likely offering the bistro-style hangar steak w/ peppercorn sauce according to a restaurant representative.

Shula’s Steak House (Westin Times Sq; 212-201-2776) — Offering a teeny 5oz filet mignon w/ bernaise and served w/ potatoes and asparagus. Haagen-Dazs ice cream is one of the two dessert options. Not too creative here. Check out the full RW menu here.
