Best Lunch Bets for Summer Restaurant Week 2009
About 30 minutes ago, nycgo.com let out a tweet with a link for early access to Summer Restaurant Week menus and reservations. While our list from this past Friday was pretty spot-on, now we can find out if any given restaurant is offering Restaurant Week for lunch only, dinner only, or both and whether they are participating on Sunday nights. From the looks of the list, it appears that DBGB has dropped out of Summer Restaurant Week. UPDATE: We just received a Direct Message on Twitter from @nycgo letting us know that DBGB is participating in Summer Restaurant Week for lunch only and has been added to the list here. We’ve perused the participating restaurants and here’s our Top 10 Lunch Options for Summer Restaurant Week 2009:

thanks for the recommendations. It’s so frustrating that not all restaurants post their menus up. I’m leaning towards Asiate though…
Thoughts on dinner spots?
Hey Dan– I’ll have a post on the Top RW Dinner Spots soon, but here are some initial thoughts.
The Modern (Bar Room) — everyone in the restaurant orders from the RW menu so no dirty looks from your server and you can add on a course for a reasonable price.
Chinatown Brasserie — it’s really 4 courses instead of 3 and one of them is a dim sum tasting
Convivio — only offering RW for dinner on Sunday evenings. can’t go wrong here!
Anthos
The Harrison — first-time RW participant
The Oak Room at the Plaza — can’t vouch for the food, but would be great opportunity to check out the new Plaza for a reasonable price
Nobu Next Door — offering 2 courses plus a bento box = great deal!
Nougatine @ Jean-Georges
Megu
Mr. Chow Tribeca
more to come
Hi Andy,
What other restaurants do you plan to visit?
Thanks Andy. I live in Cincinnati and have very little knowledge of the good spots. I booked The Harrison for Friday night. As of now, we are going to The Blue Water Grill on Thursday. How is that place? Any suggestions for a good, casual spot for Saturday night?
Hey Dan and Kim — I would definitely recommend checking out Pera Mediterranean Brasserie nr G. Central for Restaurant Week. Just saw their menu and it’s full of choice, not to mention they are offering their signature lamb dish as a main course. Dan, you can’t go wrong with Blue Water Grill, or any of the BR Guest Restaurants, for that matter — Vento, Atlantic Grill, Dos Caminos, Primehouse, Blue Fin, etc.
